By the team at Renova Smile Design, Zona Río, Tijuana — 20 minutes from the San Diego border.
“Full mouth reconstruction” is the treatment nobody plans for. Years of grinding, failed dental work, gum disease or simply time — and suddenly a US dentist hands you a plan somewhere between $50,000 and $80,000. That number is why Mexico exists on your research list. Here’s what the treatment actually involves and how to do it right across the border.
What Counts as Full Mouth Reconstruction?
It’s not one procedure — it’s a coordinated plan combining whatever your case needs:
- Dental implants to replace missing teeth (single, bridges, or full-arch All-on-4/6)
- Crowns and bridges to rebuild broken-down teeth
- Veneers for the aesthetic zone (price guide)
- Bite reconstruction — restoring worn-down vertical dimension so your jaw, muscles and joints work as designed
- Extractions, bone grafts and gum treatment where needed
Why the US Price Explodes — and Mexico’s Doesn’t
A reconstruction is 20–28 units of dental work. In the US every unit carries US lab fees, US chair time and US malpractice premiums, so at $1,500–$3,000 per unit the total lands at $50k–$80k. In Tijuana the per-unit economics are a fraction of that — with the same implant systems and ceramics. On cases this size, patients routinely save the price of a car, sometimes two.
We deliberately don’t advertise a “from $X” price for reconstruction: no two cases share a price, and teaser numbers are how bait-and-switch starts. The only number that matters is your exact price in writing, from your X-rays or CT scan, before you travel — which is how we quote every case.
How Many Trips?
Typically two. Trip 1 (3–7 days): surgery, extractions, implants, and fixed provisional teeth — you fly home with a working smile. Trip 2 (after 4–6 months of healing, 3–5 days): your final ceramic work, fabricated in our own on-site laboratory and fitted tooth by tooth. Clinics without an in-house lab usually need more visits and longer stays.
